It has been about two weeks since Jack's first day of school and he's been doing great! I was nervous with him being gone all day now and wondered if he'd come home exhausted or starving, but he walks in ready to play and quickly answers my questions about how his day was.
We pack a lunch to bring from home since he's one picky kid, but he has decided he'd like to get hot lunch next time they serve pizza! He's getting sick of sandwiches too so I need to get more creative with what I can offer him. I made a pasta salad last week he liked and we always have a variety of fruit he can choose from. I did notice his carrot sticks come home with only one bite missing!?!
The first day was rough on one brother for sure! I told him Jack wouldn't be home until the afternoon so Ryan started asking around 10:00 if it was time for lunch yet. He wanted to hurry the day along and this is where he parked it when I said Jack would be home in a half hour. He's doing better at entertaining himself now or playing with just me and Nash. Ryan starts preschool in another week.
We're proud of our first-grader! The house sure is quieter during the day, but Jack wastes no time making up for it once he's home.
