Desert Adventure

On Monday we took a little ride in the desert in a Rhino ATV Jon Gibb had borrowed from his boss. We set out from his house at about 5:30 and went a few miles off-road until we were overlooking a huge canyon in the hills above Green Valley. The view was pretty amazing and it was a fun ride up to that point.

As you can see, Jack had his fill at this point and we headed back down only to go about 5 minutes before the Rhino broke down and wouldn't start. JP started back toward the Gibb's house on foot to get Jon's truck while we waited and kept trying to start the Rhino. We finally gave up and started walking as well. Jack was a really good sport most the time until he'd had enough of the heat and couldn't understand why we were still walking in it. What we thought was only about a mile turned out to be 2 1/2 miles and it took JP 45 minutes to get back to us with the truck. Jack was pretty upset, but happy with the water his dad brought him and he calmed down pretty quick. Not an adventure we care to repeat any time soon!
